17% publishers & 70% journals have issued 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 on:
- Using AI & reporting its use for academic publishing.



𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘺:

- 5.7% explicitly ban Gen. AI in manuscript creation.
- Over 94% do not allow Gen. AI to be listed as an author.
- 43% publishers and 44% journals have specific criteria for disclosure.
- Guidance varies on where to disclose the use of Gen. AI use: methods, acknowledgments, or cover letter.
